Join us inside 400 West Rich during the next Franklinton Friday.
About once a quarter, Chartreuse will pop-up in the meeting room at the Whetstone Library.
New, like-new and gently used arts, craft and maker supplies. A good rule of thumb: if someone can't use it right away (i.e., it needs a lot of TLC to get it to a workable state) don't donate it.
We do not currently have a home base. Instead we have a storage unit to hold all incoming supplies and then travel throughout Columbus to host pop-up events or partner with other local organizations to get art supplies where they can be best used.
Chartreuse Supply Shop was founded in early 2025 through a collaboration between Debra Lemak and Heidi Clifford. Debra had seen similar community art supply initiatives thrive in cities like Austin and Cleveland and recognized a need for something similar in Columbus. At the same time, Heidi was passionate about making creative materials more accessible to artists in the Franklinton neighborhood and beyond.
After connecting on Instagram, the two quickly got to work turning their shared vision into reality. While balancing full-time careers, they began collecting gently used art supplies from community members and organizing pop-up events throughout the Columbus area.
Today, Chartreuse Supply Shop helps connect artists, makers, students, and curious creatives with affordable supplies and opportunities to experiment with new materials and tools they might not otherwise be able to access. By giving unused supplies a second life, the organization supports both creativity and sustainability within the local arts community.
Check back often to learn about upcoming events, or reach out if you have art supplies looking for a new home. We'll do our best to place them in the hands of someone who can turn them into something amazing.
